Hammond 1590Z180 180x180x100mm Square Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z180 is a square, thick wall, water-tight diecast aluminum enclosure in natural aluminum. The ordering table gives it as 7.09 in (180 mm) long, 7.09 in (180 mm) wide and 3.94 in (100 mm) total depth, while the part page lists 7.09 in x 7.09 in x 3.98 in (180 mm x 180 mm x 101 mm). It suits integrators and OEMs who need a compact, square metal housing for control, sensing or communications electronics exposed to dust and water.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy. A replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) and supplied loose inside, seals the tongue and groove joint. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws, self-captivating and thread-forming on first installation, secure the lid into tapped holes. Recommended cover screw torque is 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m).

The drawing shows inside dimensions of 169.01 mm [6.65 in] long, 168.69 mm [6.64 in] wide and 91.75 mm [3.61 in] deep. The lid depth is 30 mm (1.18 in). An internal mounting shelf accepts the optional 1590Z180PL steel inner panel. The 1590Z180 includes box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers, and accepts an M6 ground screw; blind through wall-mount holes sit outside the gasket.

The enclosure is cUL and UL listed (file E65324) and has been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, with a shipping weight of 4.14 lbs (1.88 kg).
