Hammond 1590Z166GY Gray RAL 7001 Diecast Enclosure, 360x160x90mm

The 1590Z166GY is the 360 x 160 x 90 mm (14.17 in x 6.3 in x 3.54 in) diecast aluminum enclosure painted in smooth gray RAL 7001 powder paint inside and out; the drawing calls it Grey Enclosure - RAL7001 Gloss. It suits facilities teams and OEMs who want a neutral-colored, sealed metal housing with enough footprint for larger electronics.

The diecast aluminum alloy box and lid have a 4.00 mm [0.16 in] average wall and meet at a tongue and groove joint sealed by a replaceable one-piece silicone gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) and supplied loose. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws hold the lid into tapped holes; they are self-captivating and thread on first installation. Recommended cover screw torque is 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m).

Inside dimensions are 345.01 mm [13.58 in] long, 144.70 mm [5.70 in] wide and 82.00 mm [3.23 in] deep, and the lid depth is 20 mm (0.79 in). An internal mounting shelf takes the optional 1590Z166PL steel inner panel, and listed maximum P.C. board figures are 145 mm and 344.7 mm. Included: box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers. Wall mounting uses blind through holes outside the gasket.

The enclosure is cUL and UL listed (file E65324) and has been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application. The 1590Z166GY is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, and ships at 5.86 lbs (2.66 kg).
