Hammond 1590Z150BK 221 x 121 mm Black Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z150BK is the textured black, powder-painted version of the 1590Z150 diecast aluminum enclosure. Painted inside and out, it gives OEMs and installers a dark, finished housing for larger sealed electronics assemblies used outdoors or in wet locations.

The diecast aluminum alloy box and lid use two piece tongue and groove construction with a 4.90 mm [.19 in] average wall thickness. A replaceable, one piece silicone rubber gasket rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) is supplied loose inside. The lid is held by four recessed stainless steel screws that are self-captivating and thread-forming on first installation; the drawing recommends 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m) of torque.

Outside it measures 221 mm (8.70 in) x 121 mm (4.76 in) with 81 mm (3.19 in) total depth and a 21 mm (0.83 in) lid. The inside width is 104.05 mm and inside depth 73.00 mm, and the maximum P.C. board size is 206.71 x 105.82 mm. An internal mounting shelf supports the 1590Z150PL steel inner panel, secured with SCGM6-20 copper ground hardware.

The 1590Z150BK is rated IP68 and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13, carries IK08 impact resistance per IEC62262, and is cUL and UL listed (file #E65324), RoHS and REACH compliant. It includes the box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application.
