Hammond 1590Z063BK 150x64x36 mm Black IP68 Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z063BK is the textured black version of the 1590Z063, a long 150 mm x 64 mm x 36 mm watertight diecast aluminum enclosure. Designers use it for elongated electronics such as sensor boards, LED drivers or inline assemblies that need a rugged sealed housing with a black finish.

The diecast aluminum alloy box and lid are powder painted in textured black inside and out. The lid seals through a two-piece tongue and groove joint with a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F), which is supplied loose inside. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws secure the lid; the recommended torque is 6.6-8.8 lbf.in (75-100 cN.m).

Outside, the enclosure is 5.91 in (150 mm) long, 2.52 in (64 mm) wide and 1.42 in (36 mm) deep overall, with a 0.39 in (10 mm) lid depth. The drawing gives inside dimensions of 141.61 mm [5.58 in] x 55.61 mm [2.19 in] x 30.40 mm [1.20 in] and an average wall thickness of 3.00 mm [.12 in]. No internal mounting shelf is provided.

The 1590Z063BK is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and IK08 per IEC62262, and the series is cUL and UL listed. Mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel, and the box accepts #6 self-tapping ground screws. It ships shrink wrapped with 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers, at 0.75 lbs (0.34 kg).
