Hammond 1590Z060 50x45x30 mm IP68 Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z060 is the smallest thick-wall enclosure in the 1590Z Type 4X/6P series, a natural-finish diecast aluminum box measuring 50 mm x 45 mm x 30 mm. It is built for OEM engineers and integrators who need to seal a small sensor board, connector or signal circuit against dust and water in outdoor or washdown locations.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy with a two-piece tongue and groove joint. A replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F), is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed. The design is suited to repetitive opening and closing, and the drawing lists an average wall thickness of 2.42 mm [.10 in].

Outside, the series table gives 1.97 in (50 mm) length, 1.77 in (45 mm) width and 1.18 in (30 mm) total depth, of which 0.24 in (6 mm) is lid. Inside, the drawing shows 44.28 mm [1.74 in] of length, 39.28 mm [1.55 in] of width and 25.40 mm [1.00 in] of depth. There is no internal mounting shelf.

The 1590Z060 carries an IP68 rating and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13, and the series is cUL and UL listed (File #E65324). Wall mounting uses blind through holes outside the gasket seal, and a #6 self-tapping ground screw can be fitted. It ships shrink wrapped with box, lid, silicone gasket, 2 cover screws and 1 ground screw with washers; recommended cover screw torque is 6.6-8.8 lbf.in (75-100 cN.m).
