Hammond 1590Z060BK 50x45x30 mm Black IP68 Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z060BK is the black textured version of the 50 mm x 45 mm x 30 mm 1590Z060, the smallest size in Hammond's watertight, thick-wall 1590Z series. It gives OEM designers a compact sealed housing with a dark powder-coated finish for small circuits, sensors and connectors mounted in exposed locations.

This version is painted inside and out with a tough textured black powder paint over a diecast aluminum alloy box and lid. The two-piece tongue and groove joint uses a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F), that ships loose inside the enclosure. Recessed stainless steel machine screws close the lid, and the design is intended for repetitive opening and closing.

Outside dimensions are 1.97 in (50 mm) long, 1.77 in (45 mm) wide and 1.18 in (30 mm) total depth with a 0.24 in (6 mm) lid. The drawing gives inside dimensions of 44.28 mm [1.74 in] x 39.28 mm [1.55 in] x 25.40 mm [1.00 in] and an average wall thickness of 2.42 mm [.10 in]. No internal mounting shelf is provided.

Protection ratings for the 1590Z060BK are IP68 and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13, and the series is cUL and UL listed. Mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel, and the box accepts a #6 self-tapping ground screw. The shrink-wrapped assembly includes box, lid, silicone gasket, 2 cover screws and 1 ground screw with washers, with a shipping weight of 0.16 lbs (0.07 kg).
