Hammond 1590Z060GY 50x45x30 mm Gray IP68 Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z060GY is the 50 mm x 45 mm x 30 mm 1590Z060 enclosure finished in gray RAL 7001. It is a thick-wall, water-tight diecast aluminum box for engineers and panel builders who want a small sealed housing that blends with industrial gray equipment.

Hammond powder paints this version inside and out; the drawing identifies the finish as Grey RAL7001 Gloss and the series describes it as smooth gray. Underneath is a diecast aluminum alloy box and lid joined by a two-piece tongue and groove, sealed with a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket rated from -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F). The gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure, not pre-installed.

Outside, the 1590Z060GY measures 1.97 in (50 mm) by 1.77 in (45 mm) with a total depth of 1.18 in (30 mm), including a 0.24 in (6 mm) lid. Usable inside space per the drawing is 44.28 mm [1.74 in] long, 39.28 mm [1.55 in] wide and 25.40 mm [1.00 in] deep, and average wall thickness is 2.42 mm [.10 in]. There is no internal mounting shelf.

It is rated IP68 and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13, and the series is cUL and UL listed. Blind through holes outside the gasket allow wall mounting, and a #6 self-tapping ground screw can be installed. Included are the box, lid, silicone gasket, 2 cover screws and 1 ground screw with washers; shipping weight is 0.16 lbs (0.07 kg).
