The 1590WUF is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure with a flanged bottom plate, built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need a square, surface-mountable housing designed to meet IP65. The body measures 120 x 120 mm with a nominal height of 59 mm, and the welded bottom flange extends the footprint to 149.10 mm [5.870 in] so the box can be screwed flat to a wall or panel.
Box and lid are die-cast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine for connectors, glands, switches and displays. Lap joint construction where the lid and box meet guards against dust and splashing water, and a silicone gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure for you to fit to the lid. The side walls have a low draft angle of 2° or less, which simplifies PC board mounting. The natural aluminum version is left unpainted and vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges.
Inside there is 112.65 x 112.65 mm [4.435 x 4.435 in] of floor area and 53.60 mm [2.110 in] of height, with a maximum PC board size of 111.74 x 111.74 mm. The lid closes with four 6-32 UNC cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes; the recommended torque with the gasket fitted is 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in].
The assembly ships shrink wrapped as box, lid and four cover screws, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. The same size is offered without flanges (1590WU) or with a flanged lid (1590WUFL), and 1590QGASKET is listed as the optional replacement gasket kit.
