The 1590WP is the water-tight version of the 1590P diecast aluminum enclosure in natural unpainted aluminum. Designed to meet IP65, it gives electronics engineers and equipment builders a mid-size sealed metal housing with internal ribs for mounting a printed circuit board.
Box and lid are die-cast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine, and the unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Protection comes from lap joint construction and a silicone gasket that is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed.
The nominal size is 153 x 83 x 50 mm (6.02 x 3.27 x 1.97 in), including the 4 mm lid. The drawing lists an inside length of 146.29 mm [5.759 in], inside width of 73.98 mm [2.913 in] and inside height of 45.40 mm [1.787 in]. Internal guides take a P.C. board up to 143.22 mm by 73.12 mm, and the side wall draft of 2 degrees or less eases board mounting.
The 1590WP ships as box, lid, gasket and 4 M3.5x0.6 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes. With the gasket, torque the screws to 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in]. The 1590PGASKET replacement kit and 1550WMS100 liquid resistant stainless screws with O-ring are available. Shipping weight is 0.72 lbs (0.33 kg); the part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
