Hammond 1590WNFL Flanged-Lid IP65 Diecast Box, 121x66x36 mm

The 1590WNFL is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure with a flanged lid, in the 1590N size of 4.75 x 2.61 x 1.42 in (121 x 66 x 36 mm). Finished in natural aluminum and designed to meet IP65, it gives designers a wall-mountable box with internal card guides for sliding a circuit board into place.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and this part has an unpainted natural aluminum surface that is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet helps keep out dust and splashing water, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes P.C. board mounting easier.

The drawing shows internal guides with a guide height of 31.13 mm (1.226 in) and an inside length of 113.71 mm (4.477 in). Unlike the 1590N1 versions, the lid is secured with four M3.5 x 0.6 cover screws, and the flanged lid gives an overall length of 149.50 mm (5.886 in).

A silicone gasket is supplied with this liquid resistant enclosure, loose inside the box rather than pre-installed. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws (4X M3.5x0.6 threads); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
