Hammond 1590WDDFLBK 188x120x37mm Black IP65 Diecast Box, Flanged Lid

The 1590WDDFLBK is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 7.4 in x 4.72 in x 1.46 in (188 mm x 120 mm x 37 mm) with a wall-mounting flange integrated into the lid, a shallow 37 mm IP65 housing for installers and OEM engineers mounting electronics to a flat surface. It is the water-tight version of the 1590DDFLBK, finished in textured black.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, a rugged material that is tough yet easy to machine. On this version the wall-mounting flange is integrated into the lid (overall length 217.00 mm [8.543 in] per the drawing), so the enclosure can be fastened to a surface through the lid while the box body stays free for machining. The textured black finish is a tough polyester powder paint that gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included to match. Low side wall draft angles (2° or less) make PC board mounting straightforward.

Drawing dimensions are 188.00 mm [7.402 in] long, 120.00 mm [4.724 in] wide and 37.00 mm [1.457 in] high, with inside dimensions of 179.93 mm [7.084 in] x 112.93 mm [4.446 in] x 32.00 mm [1.260 in] (length x width x height). The part data lists a maximum PC board size of 110.26 mm x 178.26 mm. Shipping weight is 1.09 lbs (0.49 kg).

The assembly includes box, lid and 6 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes (6X 6-32 UNC). Watertight 1590 enclosures are designed to meet IP65 and ship with a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure, not pre-installed. Recommended lid screw torque is 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with the gasket fitted, and 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in) without. The replacement gasket kit for this size is 1590EGASKET, and the 1590WDDFLBK is RoHS and REACH compliant.
