Hammond 1590WDE 200x120x64mm Watertight IP65 Diecast Aluminum Box

The 1590WDE is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 7.88 in x 4.73 in x 2.53 in (200 mm x 120 mm x 64 mm), a 200 mm-long 1590 size for electronics builders and OEM engineers who need an IP65 housing with nearly 60 mm of inside height. It is the water-tight version of the 1590DE, finished in natural aluminum.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, a rugged material that is tough yet easy to machine. This version has no mounting flanges: the box and lid meet in a lap joint, leaving the exterior plain and free for machining. The natural aluminum finish is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges, and the alloy remains easy to machine. Low side wall draft angles (2° or less) make PC board mounting straightforward.

Drawing dimensions are 200.20 mm [7.882 in] long, 120.20 mm [4.732 in] wide and 64.30 mm [2.531 in] high, with inside dimensions of 192.69 mm [7.586 in] x 112.69 mm [4.437 in] x 59.80 mm [2.354 in] (length x width x height). The part data lists a maximum PC board size of 107.67 mm x 175.67 mm. Shipping weight is 1.2 lbs (0.54 kg).

The assembly includes box, lid and 6 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes (6X M3.5 x 0.6). Watertight 1590 enclosures are designed to meet IP65 and ship with a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure, not pre-installed. Recommended lid screw torque is 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with the gasket fitted, and 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in) without. The replacement gasket kit for this size is 1590DEGASKET, and the 1590WDE is RoHS and REACH compliant.
