Hammond 1590WDDF 188x120x37mm IP65 Diecast Box with Flanged Bottom

The 1590WDDF is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 7.4 in x 4.72 in x 1.46 in (188 mm x 120 mm x 37 mm) with a welded, flanged bottom plate, giving installers and OEM engineers a shallow 37 mm IP65 housing that screws straight onto a panel or wall. It is the water-tight version of the 1590DDF, finished in natural aluminum.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, a rugged material that is tough yet easy to machine. This version adds a flanged bottom plate; the drawing notes the bottom flange is welded to the box, extending the overall length to 216.64 mm [8.529 in], with the flange holes 205.36 mm [8.085 in] apart. The natural aluminum finish is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges, and the alloy remains easy to machine. Low side wall draft angles (2° or less) make PC board mounting straightforward.

Drawing dimensions are 188.00 mm [7.402 in] long, 120.00 mm [4.724 in] wide and 38.50 mm [1.516 in] high, with inside dimensions of 179.93 mm [7.084 in] x 112.93 mm [4.446 in] x 32.00 mm [1.260 in] (length x width x height). The part data lists a maximum PC board size of 110.26 mm x 178.26 mm. Shipping weight is 1.19 lbs (0.54 kg).

The assembly includes box, lid and 6 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes (6X 6-32 UNC). Watertight 1590 enclosures are designed to meet IP65 and ship with a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure, not pre-installed. Recommended lid screw torque is 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with the gasket fitted, and 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in) without. The replacement gasket kit for this size is 1590EGASKET, and the 1590WDDF is RoHS and REACH compliant.
