Hammond 1590WCFL 119x94x56mm IP65 Diecast Box with Wall-Mount Lid

The 1590WCFL is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 4.7 in x 3.7 in x 2.22 in (119 mm x 94 mm x 56 mm) whose lid carries an integrated wall-mounting flange, suited to installers and OEM engineers who want to fix an IP65 electronics housing to a surface by its lid. It is the water-tight version of the 1590CFL, finished in natural aluminum.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, a rugged material that is tough yet easy to machine. On this version the wall-mounting flange is integrated into the lid, so the enclosure can be fastened to a surface through the lid while the box body stays free for machining. The natural aluminum finish is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges, and the alloy remains easy to machine. Low side wall draft angles (2° or less) make PC board mounting straightforward.

Drawing dimensions are 119.50 mm [4.705 in] long, 94.00 mm [3.701 in] wide and 56.50 mm [2.224 in] high, with inside dimensions of 111.27 mm [4.381 in] x 85.77 mm [3.377 in] x 52.25 mm [2.057 in] (length x width x height). The part data lists a maximum PC board size of 83.77 mm x 109.27 mm. Shipping weight is 0.72 lbs (0.33 kg).

The assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes (4X 6-32 UNC). Watertight 1590 enclosures are designed to meet IP65 and ship with a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure, not pre-installed. Recommended lid screw torque is 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with the gasket fitted, and 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in) without. The replacement gasket kit for this size is 1590BBGASKET, and the 1590WCFL is RoHS and REACH compliant.
