Hammond 1590WCF 119x94x56mm IP65 Diecast Box with Flanged Bottom

The 1590WCF is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 4.7 in x 3.7 in x 2.22 in (119 mm x 94 mm x 56 mm) with a flanged bottom plate, aimed at OEM engineers, electricians and integrators who need to screw an IP65 electronics housing directly to a panel, wall or chassis. It is the water-tight version of the 1590CF, finished in natural aluminum.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, a rugged material that is tough yet easy to machine. This version adds a flanged bottom plate; the drawing notes the bottom flange is welded to the box, extending the overall length to 148.24 mm [5.836 in], with the flange holes 136.96 mm [5.392 in] apart. The natural aluminum finish is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges, and the alloy remains easy to machine. Low side wall draft angles (2° or less) make PC board mounting straightforward.

Drawing dimensions are 119.50 mm [4.705 in] long, 94.00 mm [3.701 in] wide and 58.00 mm [2.283 in] high, with inside dimensions of 111.27 mm [4.381 in] x 85.77 mm [3.377 in] x 52.25 mm [2.057 in] (length x width x height). The part data lists a maximum PC board size of 83.77 mm x 109.27 mm. Shipping weight is 0.73 lbs (0.33 kg).

The assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes (4X 6-32 UNC). Watertight 1590 enclosures are designed to meet IP65 and ship with a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure, not pre-installed. Recommended lid screw torque is 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with the gasket fitted, and 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in) without. The replacement gasket kit for this size is 1590BBGASKET, and the 1590WCF is RoHS and REACH compliant.
