Hammond 1590WCBK Black IP65 Diecast Aluminum Box, 120x94x57 mm

The 1590WCBK is the water-tight version of the 1590C size in the 1590 Series of diecast aluminum enclosures: a deep, near-square IP65 box with no mounting flanges. It is painted textured black and suits electronics builders, integrators and OEM engineers who need room for a larger PC board and components in a sealed metal case.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the side wall draft angle of 2° or less aids PC board mounting. This black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that the series literature says gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included so the hardware matches the case.

The listed size is 4.7 x 3.7 x 2.22 in (119 x 94 x 56 mm); the ordering table's nominal size is 4.72 x 3.70 x 2.24 in (120 x 94 x 57 mm). The drawing shows a 119.50 x 94.00 mm body with inside dimensions of 111.27 mm long, 85.77 mm wide and 52.25 mm high. Maximum PC board size is 109.27 x 83.77 mm, and the lid is 0.16 in (4 mm) high.

Included are the box, lid, four 6-32 UNC cover screws and a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure. Torque the screws to 25-30 cN.m with the gasket (50-55 cN.m without).
