Hammond 1590WBXFLBK Black 10 in IP65 Diecast Enclosure, Flanged Lid

The 1590WBXFLBK is the flanged-lid, water-tight version of the 10-inch 1590BX diecast aluminum enclosure. The wall-mounting flange is integrated into the lid, so the box hangs from a wall or panel with the body projecting outward. This part is finished in textured black and suits installers and OEM engineers packaging long PC boards behind an IP65 seal.

Construction is diecast aluminum alloy for both box and lid, tough yet easy to machine. A lap joint between lid and box keeps out dust and splashing water, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) simplifies PC board mounting. This black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that the series literature says gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included so the hardware matches the case.

The body is listed at 10 x 2.76 x 1.95 in (254 x 70 x 50 mm), nominal 10.00 x 2.76 x 1.97 in. Across the lid flange it measures 283.00 mm [11.142 in]; the drawing shows a 2.5 mm 49° chamfer detail on the flange. Inside dimensions are 247.68 x 63.68 x 44.70 mm, and PC boards up to 245.68 x 61.68 mm fit. The lid is 0.16 in (4 mm) high.

Six 6-32 UNC cover screws, the box, the flanged lid and a loose silicone gasket are included. Torque the screws to 25-30 cN.m with the gasket in place. 1590BXGASKET is the replacement gasket kit. RoHS and REACH compliant; shrink wrapped; 0.9 lbs (0.41 kg).
