Hammond 1590WBXFBK Black 10 in IP65 Diecast Enclosure, Flanged Base

The 1590WBXFBK takes the 10-inch 1590BX diecast aluminum enclosure and adds a flanged bottom plate, so the water-tight IP65 box can be bolted straight to a panel, machine frame or wall. It is the textured black version. It is intended for integrators and OEM designers housing long PC boards or instrument electronics.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy that is tough yet easy to machine. Lap joint construction at the lid resists dust and splashing water, while the 2°-or-less side wall draft angle makes PC board mounting easier. This black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that the series literature says gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included so the hardware matches the case.

The listed size is 10 x 2.76 x 1.95 in (254 x 70 x 50 mm), with a nominal 10.00 x 2.76 x 1.97 in in the ordering table. Including the bottom flange the overall length is 273.00 mm [10.748 in]. Internally you get 247.68 x 63.68 mm with 44.70 mm of height, and the maximum PC board is 245.68 x 61.68 mm. Lid height is 0.16 in (4 mm).

The assembly ships with box, lid, six 6-32 UNC cover screws and a loose silicone gasket. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m, reduced to 25-30 cN.m with the gasket. Stainless O-ring cover screws are sold as 1590WMS100 and 1590WMS100BK; the replacement gasket kit is 1590BXGASKET. RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, 0.9 lbs (0.41 kg).
