Hammond 1590WBX2FLBK Black Low-Profile IP65 Diecast Box, Flanged Lid

The 1590WBX2FLBK combines the slim 1590BX2 body with a wall-mounting flange integrated into the lid, in the water-tight IP65 version. It is finished in textured black and is aimed at installers and OEM designers mounting a long, shallow sealed enclosure to a wall or panel.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The lap joint where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less for easy PC board mounting. This black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that the series literature says gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included so the hardware matches the case.

The body is listed at 10 x 2.76 x 1.36 in (254 x 70 x 35 mm), nominal 10.00 x 2.76 x 1.38 in. Across the lid flange the overall length is 283.00 mm [11.142 in], and the drawing details a 2.5 mm 49° chamfer on the flange. Inside dimensions are 248.33 x 64.33 x 29.70 mm, fitting PC boards up to 246.33 x 62.33 mm. Lid height is 0.16 in (4 mm).

Included are the box, flanged lid, six 6-32 UNC cover screws and a silicone gasket supplied loose inside. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m, or 25-30 cN.m with the gasket. The replacement gasket kit is 1590BXGASKET. RoHS and REACH compliant; shrink wrapped; 0.8 lbs (0.36 kg).
