Hammond 1590WBX2FBK Black Low-Profile IP65 Diecast Box, Flanged Base

The 1590WBX2FBK is the 1590BX2 low-profile diecast aluminum enclosure in water-tight IP65 form with a flanged bottom plate for bolting to a surface. This is the textured black version. It is made for integrators and OEM engineers who need a slim, 10-inch sealed housing that fixes down through its base.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy that is tough yet easy to machine. A lap joint at the lid resists dust and splashing water, and a side wall draft angle of 2° or less helps with PC board mounting. This black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that the series literature says gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included so the hardware matches the case.

Listed size is 10 x 2.76 x 1.36 in (254 x 70 x 35 mm), nominal 10.00 x 2.76 x 1.38 in. With the bottom flange, overall length is 273.00 mm [10.748 in]. The interior is 248.33 x 64.33 mm with 29.70 mm of height, and PC boards up to 246.33 x 62.33 mm fit. The lid is 0.16 in (4 mm) high.

Supplied with box, lid, six 6-32 UNC cover screws and a loose silicone gasket. Use 25-30 cN.m of torque with the gasket fitted. Stainless steel O-ring cover screws (1590WMS100, 1590WMS100BK) and the 1590BXGASKET replacement gasket kit are listed as accessories. RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, 0.8 lbs (0.36 kg).
