Hammond 1590WBX2BK Black Low-Profile 10 in IP65 Diecast Enclosure

The 1590WBX2BK is the lower-height 1590BX2 size in the 1590 Series, a 10-inch diecast aluminum enclosure in water-tight IP65 form with no mounting flanges. Finished in textured black, it is a slim option for OEM engineers and integrators housing long, low-profile PC boards and instrument electronics.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and side walls with a 2°-or-less draft angle ease PC board mounting. This black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that the series literature says gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included so the hardware matches the case.

The listed size is 10 x 2.76 x 1.36 in (254 x 70 x 35 mm); the ordering table gives a nominal 10.00 x 2.76 x 1.38 in. Inside you have 248.33 mm of length, 64.33 mm of width and 29.70 mm of height, and the enclosure takes a PC board up to 246.33 x 62.33 mm. Lid height is 0.16 in (4 mm).

The lid closes with six 6-32 UNC cover screws, supplied with the box, lid and a silicone gasket packed loose inside. Recommended torque is 25-30 cN.m with the gasket (50-55 cN.m without). The replacement gasket kit is 1590BXGASKET. RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, 0.8 lbs (0.36 kg).
