The 1590WBX is the long, narrow 1590BX size of the 1590 Series diecast aluminum enclosures in its water-tight, IP65 form. It has no mounting flanges and comes in natural aluminum. At 10 inches long it suits OEM engineers and integrators housing elongated PC boards, sensor electronics or instrument assemblies that need protection from dust and water.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. A lap joint where lid and box meet guards against dust and splashing water, and the side walls use a draft angle of 2° or less for easy PC board mounting. The natural version is left unpainted and vibra finished, giving a smooth surface with no sharp edges that is ready to machine or paint.
The listed size is 10 x 2.76 x 1.95 in (254 x 70 x 50 mm); the nominal size in the ordering table is 10.00 x 2.76 x 1.97 in (254 x 70 x 50 mm). Inside it offers 247.68 mm of length, 63.68 mm of width and 44.70 mm of height, with room for a PC board up to 245.68 x 61.68 mm. The lid is 0.16 in (4 mm) high.
Because of its length, the 1590BX closes with six 6-32 UNC cover screws rather than four. The purchased assembly includes box, lid, the six screws and a silicone gasket supplied loose inside (not pre-installed); torque the screws to 25-30 cN.m with the gasket. 1590BXGASKET is the replacement gasket kit. RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, 0.9 lbs (0.41 kg).
