Hammond 1590WBSFBK Black IP65 Diecast Box with Flanged Base, 112x61x38 mm

The 1590WBSFBK is the water-tight, flanged-base version of the 1590BS size in the 1590 Series of diecast aluminum enclosures. It is finished in textured black and is aimed at OEM engineers, integrators and electricians who need a compact IP65 box that bolts down to a panel or wall through a flange on the bottom plate.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine. Lap joint construction where the lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the side walls have a low draft angle of 2° or less for easy PC board mounting. This black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that the series literature says gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included so the hardware matches the case.

Nominal size is 4.41 x 2.40 x 1.50 in (112 x 61 x 38 mm); the listed size is 4.41 x 2.38 x 1.65 in (112 x 60 x 42 mm). The welded bottom flange takes the overall length to 140.21 mm [5.520 in]. Inside, the box measures 106.47 mm long by 54.97 mm wide and accepts a PC board up to 104.47 x 52.97 mm. The lid is 0.16 in (4 mm) high.

The assembly ships with box, lid, four 6-32 UNC cover screws in factory-tapped holes and a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure (not pre-installed). Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m, or 25-30 cN.m when the gasket is fitted. The replacement gasket kit is 1590BGASKET. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap and weighs 0.34 lbs (0.15 kg).
