Hammond 1590WCEBK 120x100x65mm Black Watertight Diecast Aluminum Box

The 1590WCEBK is a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure sized 4.74 in x 3.95 in x 2.54 in (120 mm x 100 mm x 65 mm), built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and installers who need an IP65 housing with a generous 60.35 mm of inside height for taller components. It is the water-tight version of the 1590CEBK, finished in textured black.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, a rugged material that is tough yet easy to machine. This version has no mounting flanges: the box and lid meet in a lap joint, leaving the exterior plain and free for machining. The textured black finish is a tough polyester powder paint that gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included to match. Low side wall draft angles (2° or less) make PC board mounting straightforward.

Drawing dimensions are 120.42 mm [4.741 in] long, 100.41 mm [3.953 in] wide and 64.57 mm [2.542 in] high, with inside dimensions of 113.38 mm [4.464 in] x 92.68 mm [3.649 in] x 60.35 mm [2.376 in] (length x width x height). The part data lists a maximum PC board size of 91.68 mm x 112.38 mm. Shipping weight is 0.65 lbs (0.29 kg).

The assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes (4X M3.5 x 0.6). Watertight 1590 enclosures are designed to meet IP65 and ship with a silicone gasket supplied loose inside the enclosure, not pre-installed. Recommended lid screw torque is 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with the gasket fitted, and 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in) without. The replacement gasket kit for this size is 1590CEGASKET, and the 1590WCEBK is RoHS and REACH compliant.
