Hammond 1590WBF 112x61x31mm IP65 Diecast Enclosure, Flanged Base

The 1590WBF is the water-tight, natural-finish 1590B diecast aluminum enclosure with a flanged bottom plate. This compact box is for electronics designers, electricians and OEM teams who need a small metal housing that fixes to a surface from its base and is designed to meet IP65.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine; the drawing notes the bottom flange is welded. The unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the silicone gasket is included, supplied loose inside the enclosure.

Nominal size is 4.41 x 2.40 x 1.22 in (112 x 61 x 31 mm); the part page lists 4.43 x 2.38 x 1.22 in (113 x 60 x 31 mm). The drawing gives an overall length of 140.21 mm [5.520 in] across the flange, a 112.40 mm [4.425 in] by 60.50 mm [2.382 in] box body and 32.50 mm [1.280 in] overall height. Inside there is 107.05 mm [4.215 in] of length, 55.45 mm [2.183 in] of width and 27.00 mm [1.063 in] of height, and the maximum PC board is 53.45 x 105.05 mm. Side wall draft is 2 degrees or less.

The 1590WBF includes box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. Shipping weight is 0.38 lbs (0.17 kg); it is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the replacement gasket kit is 1590BGASKET.
