Hammond 1590WBBSF 120x94x42mm IP65 Diecast Enclosure, Flanged Base

The 1590WBBSF is the natural-finish, water-tight 1590BBS diecast aluminum enclosure with a flanged bottom plate. It combines the deeper 1590BBS body with a surface-mounting base, for electricians, integrators and OEM engineers who need a housing designed to meet IP65 that can be fixed down.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and the drawing notes that the bottom flange is welded. The unpainted surface is vibra finished for smoothness with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the included silicone gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure.

Nominal size is 4.72 x 3.70 x 1.65 in (120 x 94 x 42 mm). The drawing gives 148.24 mm [5.836 in] across the flange, a box body of 119.50 mm [4.705 in] by 94.00 mm [3.701 in], and an overall height of 43.60 mm [1.717 in]. The interior measures 113.48 mm [4.468 in] long, 87.98 mm [3.464 in] wide and 37.85 mm [1.490 in] high, with a maximum PC board size of 85.98 x 111.48 mm and side wall draft of 2 degrees or less.

The 1590WBBSF includes box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. Shipping weight is 0.35 lbs (0.16 kg), and it is RoHS and REACH compliant.
