The 1590WBBS is the water-tight, natural-finish version of the 1590BBS diecast aluminum enclosure, the taller body in the 1590BB footprint. With no mounting flanges, it is a straightforward rugged box for electronics designers, integrators and OEM teams who need more internal height and a housing designed to meet IP65.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and a silicone gasket is included, supplied loose inside the enclosure.
Nominal size is 4.72 x 3.70 x 1.65 in (120 x 94 x 42 mm). The drawing lists an outside length of 119.50 mm [4.705 in], width of 94.00 mm [3.701 in] and height of 42.10 mm [1.657 in]. Inside, there is 113.48 mm [4.468 in] of length, 87.98 mm [3.464 in] of width and 37.85 mm [1.490 in] of height, and the maximum PC board is 85.98 x 111.48 mm. The low side wall draft angle (2 degrees or less) helps with PC board mounting.
Included are the box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes. Torque the screws to 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] when the gasket is fitted. The 1590WBBS has a listed shipping weight of 0.31 lbs (0.14 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
