Hammond 1590WABK 93x39x31 mm IP65 Watertight Diecast Box, Black

The 1590WABK is the water-tight version of the slim 1590A diecast aluminum enclosure, finished in textured black. Designed to meet IP65, it gives electronics designers and OEM engineers a small, rugged metal housing for narrow boards where dust and water jets are a concern.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The textured black version is coated with tough polyester powder paint for a lasting finish, even after machining, and black screws are included to enhance appearance. A silicone gasket is included, supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed, so the box can be machined before the gasket is fitted to the lid. The gasket is rated from -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).

The part page lists the size as 3.65 in x 1.52 in x 1.22 in (93 mm x 39 mm x 31 mm); the ordering table gives a nominal 3.66 in x 1.54 in x 1.22 in. The drawing shows 92.60 mm x 38.50 mm x 31.00 mm overall and an inside box of 87.80 mm x 33.70 mm x 27.40 mm [3.457 x 1.327 x 1.079 in]. Maximum PC board size is 86.8 mm x 32.7 mm. There are no mounting flanges.

The assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws in factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes. With the gasket fitted, the recommended torque is 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in]. Replacement gaskets are available as the 1590AGASKET kit, and watertight stainless steel screws with O-ring as 1590WMS100 or 1590WMS100BK. The 1590WABK is RoHS and REACH compliant; shipping weight 0.19 lbs (0.09 kg).
