The 1590QGASKET is a two-pack of pre-formed silicone gaskets for the 120 x 120 mm footprint of the 1590 Series diecast aluminum enclosures. The ordering table lists it as the replacement gasket kit for the 1590Q (34 mm high), 1590U (59 mm high) and 1590V (94 mm high) families, in natural and black, with no flanges, a flanged lid or a flanged bottom plate.
Standard 1590 enclosures are designed to meet IP54. Fitting this kit lets you upgrade them to IP65, provided the gasket is properly installed and the lid screws are torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in). It also serves as a replacement for the gasket supplied with the water-tight 1590W versions.
Each gasket has an adhesive backing and is applied to the lid. Because the gasket goes on separately, the enclosure can be machined and/or painted first and gasketed afterwards, which is useful for OEM builders and integrators who drill connector holes or finish the box before assembly. The silicone is rated for -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).
When converting a standard enclosure to a water-tight box, the manufacturer also recommends ordering its watertight screws (stainless steel with O-ring). The 1590QGASKET is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, with a shipping weight of 0.02 lbs (0.01 kg).
