Hammond 1590R1 192x112x61mm Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590R1 is one of the longer, deeper enclosures in the 1590 Series: a natural aluminum diecast aluminum box measuring 7.55 x 4.39 x 2.4 in (192 x 112 x 61 mm). With 56.50 mm (2.224 in) of inside height, it gives OEM engineers, integrators and electronics builders room for taller components, stacked boards or wiring alongside a long PC board.

The box and lid are cast from aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and meet at a lap joint that protects against dust and splashing water. This standard version is designed to meet IP54. The natural version is left unpainted and vibra finished, so the surface is smooth with no sharp edges.

The drawing gives overall dimensions of 191.80 x 111.60 x 61.00 mm (7.551 x 4.394 x 2.402 in) and inside dimensions of 184.42 mm (7.261 in) long by 104.42 mm (4.111 in) wide. Maximum P.C. board values are listed as 102.42 mm (length) and 182.42 mm (width). Side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less for easy board mounting, and the lid height is 0.16 in (4 mm).

Unlike most 1590 sizes, the lid of the 1590R1 is secured by six 6-32 UNC screws, which are included and thread into factory-tapped holes. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with a gasket. For IP65, choose the water-tight 1590WR1 or add the 1590RGASKET kit. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.96 lbs (0.44 kg).
