The 1590JGASKET is a two-pack of pre-formed silicone gaskets for 1590J diecast aluminum enclosures, the 5.71 in x 3.74 in x 1.93 in (145 mm x 95 mm x 49 mm) size. It gives integrators, OEM engineers and facilities teams an upgrade path from IP54 to IP65 for standard enclosures, and serves as a replacement gasket for the water-tight 1590WJ versions, where the gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed.
The ordering table lists it for 1590J and 1590JF, the water-tight 1590WJ and 1590WJF, and the black versions 1590JBK, 1590JFBK, 1590WJBK and 1590WJFBK.
Each gasket includes adhesive backing for easy installation and is applied to the lid, which allows the enclosure to be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later. The silicone has a temperature rating of -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).
The enclosure is designed to meet IP65 with the gasket properly installed and lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in). When converting a standard enclosure, the series notes advise ordering the watertight stainless steel screws with O-ring as well. RoHS and REACH compliant; bagged, 0.02 lbs (0.01 kg).
