Hammond 1590EGASKET Silicone Gasket Kit for D, DD & E Enclosures, 2-Pack

The 1590EGASKET is a two-pack of pre-formed silicone gaskets for the 188 x 120 mm family of 1590 Series diecast aluminum enclosures. It is used to upgrade a standard IP54 enclosure to an IP65 design, or to replace the gasket in a water-tight version.

The series ordering table lists it as the optional replacement gasket kit for the 1590D (56 mm high), 1590DD (37 mm high) and 1590E (82 mm high) enclosures in both natural and black, including the flanged-lid (FL) and flanged-bottom (F) versions and their water-tight counterparts. That covers, for example, 1590D, 1590DBK, 1590DF, 1590DFL, 1590DD, 1590DDF, 1590DDFL, 1590E, 1590EBK, 1590EF and 1590EFL.

Each gasket has adhesive backing for easy installation and is applied to the lid. Because it is fitted separately, the enclosure can be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later. The silicone has a temperature rating of -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).

With a properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in), the enclosure is designed to meet IP65. When converting a standard box, Hammond recommends also ordering watertight stainless steel screws with O-ring; the 188 x 120 mm drawings list 1590WMS100 and 1590WMS100BK (6-32 x 1/2").

1590EGASKET is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, shipping weight 0.03 lb (0.01 kg).
