The 1590D is a larger-format diecast aluminum electronic instrument enclosure with a nominal size of 188 x 119 x 56 mm (7.39 x 4.7 x 2.2 in) and no mounting flanges. It gives engineers and builders a roomy, rigid metal housing for control boards, power electronics and multi-connector assemblies.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The natural version is unpainted and vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54.

This size closes with six 6-32 UNC cover screws, included and threaded into factory-tapped holes. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in), or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with a gasket. The series table lists 1590EGASKET as the replacement gasket kit for an IP65 upgrade, and 1590WD as the water-tight version. Shipping weight is 1.1 lbs (0.50 kg); RoHS and REACH compliant.
