The 1590BX2F is the flanged-base version of the long, slim 1590BX2 diecast aluminum enclosure, in natural finish. The flanged bottom plate lets you fix the box to a panel, wall or chassis and remove the lid for access, a practical arrangement for integrators and OEM engineers mounting long, flat boards. The part page lists 10 x 2.76 x 1.36 in (254 x 70 x 35 mm).
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine; the unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges.
Across the flange the drawing shows an overall length of 273.00 mm [10.748 in], with a box length of 253.89 mm [9.996 in], width of 70.00 mm [2.756 in] and overall height of 36.00 mm [1.417 in]. Inside dimensions are 248.33 x 64.33 x 29.70 mm [9.777 x 2.533 x 1.169 in]. Side walls have a draft angle of 2 degrees or less for easy PC board mounting, and maximum P.C. board figures are 62.33 mm and 246.33 mm.
Six 6-32 UNC cover screws thread into factory-tapped holes, torqued to 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The lap joint protects against dust and splashing water, and the 1590BX2F is designed to meet IP54. The water-tight equivalent is 1590WBX2F; the optional replacement gasket kit is 1590BXGASKET.
It weighs 0.8 lbs (0.36 kg), ships shrink wrapped, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. STEP and IGES models are available.
