The 1590BSBK is the black textured version of the 1590BS diecast aluminum enclosure: the deeper member of the 1590B-size family, with no mounting flanges. It is aimed at electronics designers, OEM engineers and builders who need a compact, painted metal housing with room for taller components. The part page size is 4.41 x 2.38 x 1.65 in (112 x 60 x 42 mm).
The diecast aluminum alloy box and lid are coated with a tough polyester powder paint for a lasting finish, even after machining, so openings for jacks, switches and displays can be cut without losing the black look. Black screws are included to enhance appearance.
According to the drawing, the outside measures 112.00 x 60.50 x 42.00 mm and the inside 106.47 x 54.97 x 38.00 mm [4.192 x 2.164 x 1.496 in]. Wall draft is 2 degrees or less for easy PC board mounting, and the part data gives maximum P.C. board figures of 52.97 mm and 104.47 mm. Nominal ordering-table dimensions are 4.41 x 2.40 x 1.50 in (112 x 61 x 38 mm).
Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the 1590BSBK is designed to meet IP54. Four 6-32 UNC screws thread into factory-tapped holes at 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. For IP65 there is the water-tight 1590WBSBK, or add the 1590BGASKET kit plus black stainless O-ring screws (1590WMS100BK).
It ships shrink wrapped at 0.5 lbs (0.23 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
