The 1590AFL is the flanged-lid version of the 93 x 39 x 31 mm 1590A diecast aluminum enclosure. Rather than a separate plate, the wall-mounting flange is integrated into the lid, so the box can be fixed to a wall or panel with the lid as the mounting face. It is aimed at OEM engineers, electricians and integrators housing small electronics.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. This natural version is unpainted and vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the standard 1590AFL is designed to meet IP54.
The listed size is 3.65 in x 1.52 in x 1.22 in (93 mm x 39 mm x 31 mm). The drawing shows 121.50 mm [4.783 in] overall length including the lid flange, 38.50 mm [1.516 in] width and 31.00 mm [1.220 in] height. Inside dimensions are 87.80 mm [3.457 in] long, 33.70 mm [1.327 in] wide and 27.30 mm [1.075 in] high, with a side wall draft angle of 2° or less for PC board mounting.
The assembly ships shrink wrapped with box, lid and 4 cover screws in factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The liquid resistant version is 1590WAFL, and the 1590AGASKET kit is available as an upgrade. Factory modification and STEP or IGES solid models are offered.
