The 1590AGASKET is a two-pack of pre-formed silicone gaskets for 1590A size diecast aluminum enclosures (3.66 x 1.54 x 1.22 in / 93 x 39 x 31 mm). It lets electricians, integrators and OEM builders upgrade a standard IP54 1590A-size enclosure to IP65, or replace the gasket in a water-tight version.
Each kit includes two pre-formed silicone gaskets with adhesive backing for easy installation. The gasket is applied to the lid, and because it is added separately the enclosure can be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later. The gasket has a temperature rating of -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).
The kit is designed to meet IP65 with a properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in). The 1590 Series notes also recommend ordering watertight screws (stainless steel with O-ring) when converting a standard enclosure to a watertight box.
