Hammond 1589T36D1 36 in Vertical PDU, 6 Outlets, L5-20P Plug

The 1589T36D1 is a 36 inch vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase, built for IT, AV and electrical professionals who need to distribute 5-15/5-20R power inside a cabinet or rack. It is the pilot light version of the 36 in strip; the equivalent model with an on/off switch is 1589H36D1.

Power comes in through an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug on a 15 ft heavy duty 12/3 SJT cord, chosen for extreme temperature ranges, and the strip carries a resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker plus a power indicator light. The six heavy-duty black receptacles are rated 20A, 125VAC (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot), measure 1 in square and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. There is no switch, no surge protection and no metering on this model.

Construction is a low-profile, rugged and lightweight anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic ends, supplied in a natural finish. The strip is 36.00 in (914 mm) long per the ordering table, with the drawing showing a 926.39 mm [36.472 in] overall assembly length and a 41.05 mm [1.616 in] profile. Shipping weight is 5.5 lbs (2.49 kg).

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included for vertical mounting in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or horizontal mounting above a work bench; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories, so allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails.
