Hammond 1589T18G1 18-Inch 6-Outlet 20A Vertical PDU, Pilot Light

The 1589T18G1 is an 18 inch vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 120VAC, 20A single-phase, with six 20A/125V NEMA 5-20R receptacles. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical installers powering equipment in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be mounted horizontally above a work bench. This version has no on/off switch; instead it uses a power indicator (pilot) light plus a resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, giving a rugged but light weight assembly in a natural finish. The receptacles are 1 in square, heavy-duty black, single T-slot NEMA 5-20R, equally spaced over the length of the strip and all facing the front (6 front, 0 rear). Power is supplied through a heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord with an integral molded NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug, 15 ft long, suited to extreme temperature ranges. Operating temperature range is -20 C to +60 C.

Nominal strip length is 18.00 in (457 mm); the drawing shows an overall assembly length of 17.972 in (456.49 mm). Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg). A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with each outlet strip; additional hardware kits can be ordered as P/N 1585CLIP.

Per the manufacturer's notes, outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, since the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The 1589T18G1 is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA Certified (C22.2 No. 308-14; drawing cites C22.2 No. 21-95, 42-99), UL file E166039, RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA and TAA-compliant, and manufactured in North America.
