Hammond 1589T18D1 18" 6-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589T18D1 is an 18.00 in (457 mm) vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC, with six 20A/125V NEMA 5-20R receptacles, a power indicator light and a reseatable 20 Amp circuit breaker. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical installers powering equipment inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a workbench.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, supplied in a Natural finish. The receptacles are 1" square and are equally spaced over the length of the strip; all six outlets face the front, with none on the rear. Heavy-duty black receptacles are rated for 20A, 125VAC service (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot). Power is supplied through a heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord, 15 ft long, with an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug. The cord is unshielded and the unit does not include surge protection or metering.

Assembly dimensions from the drawing are 456.49 mm (17.972 in) overall length with a 205.30 mm (8.083 in) outlet spacing reference, a 41.05 mm (1.616 in) end profile and a 29.18 mm (1.149 in) body depth dimension. Shipping weight is 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP.

1589T18D1 is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA Certified (C22.2 No. 21-95, 42-99; series listing also cites CSA C22.2 No. 308-14) under UL File # E166039, is RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America. Operating temperature range is -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C.

Note: outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting.
