Hammond 1589H48F116 48in 16-Outlet 20A Vertical Basic PDU

The 1589H48F116 is a 48 in vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) with 16 NEMA 5-20R receptacles, rated 20A at 120VAC. It is intended for IT, AV and facilities teams powering equipment in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be installed horizontally above a work bench.

The low-profile slim housing uses an anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, giving a rugged but light weight assembly that ships at 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). The finish is natural; a black finish is available in the series upon request. All 16 outlets face the front (none on the rear), are 1 in square, and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. Front-panel controls include an on/off rocker power switch and a resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker. A pilot-light version of this configuration is offered as 1589T48F116.

Strip length is 48.00 in (1219 mm), with a drawing overall assembly length of 1231.09 mm [48.468 in] and 1224.28 mm [48.200 in] across the receptacle field. Power is supplied by an integral 6 ft heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord with molded NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug, suited to extreme temperature ranges; operating temperature is -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C. There is no surge protection, metering, cord shielding, rotated outlets or hospital grade rating on this model.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional kits can be ordered as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories — allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The 1589H48F116 is UL Listed to UL1363, CSA Certified, TAA-compliant, RoHS and REACH compliant, and manufactured in North America.
