Hammond 1589H48F1 48 in 8-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A 5-20R

The 1589H48F1 is a 48 in (1219 mm) vertical basic PDU, also described by the manufacturer as a 20 amp power bar with 8 outlets. It is built for IT, AV and facilities teams that need straightforward rack power distribution in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be mounted horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic ends, finished in Natural. The eight heavy-duty black receptacles are 1 in square, equally spaced over the length of the strip, all facing the front, and are rated 20A, 125VAC (NEMA 5-20R single T-slot). An on/off rocker power switch and a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker are built in, and power comes from an integral 6 ft heavy duty 12/3 SJT cord with a molded NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug suited to extreme temperature ranges.

Overall assembly dimensions on the drawing are 1231.19 mm (48.472 in) long, with a 1224.28 mm (48.200 in) case length, 41.05 mm (1.616 in) and 29.18 mm (1.149 in) profile call-outs from the end view. Shipping weight is 6 lbs (2.72 kg). Operating temperature range is -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional hardware kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Per the manufacturer's notes, outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets because the strip and equipment plugs interfere with mounted equipment and accessories, so allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts.
