Hammond 1589H48D116 48" 16-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589H48D116 is a 48 in. vertical basic power distribution unit with 16 NEMA 5-20R outlets, rated 20A at 120VAC. It is built for IT, AV and facilities teams that need straightforward, unmetered power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be mounted horizontally above a work bench.

The housing uses an anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, giving a low-profile slim design in a rugged, light weight package. The finish is Natural (black finish is available upon request). Heavy-duty black receptacles are rated for 20A, 125VAC service (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot), are 1 in. square and are equally spaced over the length of the strip "— all 16 outlets face the front, with none on the rear. Power control is handled by an on/off rocker switch and a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker; the pilot-light version of this configuration is 1589T48D116.

Connection is by an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug on a 15 ft heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord suited to extreme temperature ranges, with an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C. The strip measures 48.00 in (1219 mm) nominal length, with a drawing overall assembly length of 1231.09 mm [48.468 in]. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional kits can be ordered as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories "— allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails to mount vertically to the struts. The 1589H48D116 is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
