Hammond 1589H48D1 48-Inch 8-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589H48D1 is a 48 in (1219 mm) vertical basic power distribution unit with eight NEMA 5-20R receptacles, rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase. It is intended for IT, AV and industrial users who need straightforward, unmetered power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, finished in Natural. The receptacles are heavy-duty black units rated for 20A, 125VAC service (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot), are 1 in square, and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. All eight outlets face the front; there are no rear outlets and the outlets are not rotated. This version includes an on/off rocker switch plus a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker (the pilot-light equivalent of this configuration is 1589T48D1).

Power is supplied by an integral 15 ft heavy-duty 12 gauge cord, 12/3 SJT rated for extreme temperature ranges, terminated in a molded NEMA L5-20P twist-locking plug. Operating temperature range is -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C. The drawing shows an overall assembly length of 1231.19 mm (48.472 in) with a 1224.28 mm (48.200 in) case length and 29.18 mm (1.149 in) depth from the end view.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the 1589H48D1; additional hardware kits can be ordered as P/N 1585CLIP. Per the series notes, outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The unit is UL Listed to UL1363 and cUL/CSA certified, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
