Hammond 1589H48C1 48 in 8-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589H48C1 is a 48-inch vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) with eight NEMA 5-20R receptacles, rated 20 amps at 120VAC. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical professionals powering equipment in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be installed horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, giving a rugged but light weight assembly. The finish is Natural. Heavy-duty black receptacles are 1 inch square and equally spaced over the length of the strip at 5.000 in (127.00 mm) typical spacing. Power comes in through a heavy duty 12 gauge cord - 12/3 SJT rated for extreme temperature ranges - with an integral molded 6 ft NEMA L5-20P locking plug. This "H" version is the on/off rocker switch model (1589T48C1 is the equivalent pilot light version) and includes a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker.

Nominal strip length is 48.00 in (1219 mm); the drawing shows an overall assembly length of 48.472 in (1231.19 mm). All eight outlets face the front, with no rear outlets and no rotated outlets. Shipping weight is 6 lbs (2.72 kg). A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; order P/N 1585CLIP for an additional hardware kit.

• Note: outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories.
• Note: to properly use on rack cabinets, allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts.

The 1589H48C1 is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA Certified (UL file E166039), RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America. Operating temperature range is -20 C to +60 C.
