Hammond 1587T11B1S 70 in Vertical PDU, 11 Outlets, 15 ft Cord

The 1587T11B1S is a vertical basic power distribution unit with surge protection, built for IT, AV and industrial users who need to distribute 120V power the full height of a server cabinet, wall mount cabinet or open frame rack. It carries 11 NEMA 5-15R outlets on the front face, rated 125VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps, and uses a power indicator light rather than an on/off switch, so connected loads cannot be switched off accidentally.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion in a natural finish with ABS plastic end caps, keeping the strip rugged but light. The receptacles are 1 in square and equally spaced over the length of the strip, and a resettable 15 Amp circuit breaker is built into the end of the assembly. A 15 ft, 14/3 SJT heavy-duty cord with an integral molded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug is included, suitable for extreme temperature ranges.

Nominal strip length is 70.00 in (1778 mm), with an overall assembly length of 1789.89 mm (70.468 in) and a body section measuring 41.05 mm (1.616 in) by 29.18 mm (1.149 in) at the end view. Shipping weight is 6.5 lbs (2.95 kg). A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. The strip can also be installed horizontally above a work bench.

Surge protection on the 1587T11B1S is rated at 1080 Joules maximum energy, using 25000 Amp rated MOVs for a total of 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a 500V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a 5kA nominal discharge current. A green indicator light confirms the surge module is active; internal protection disconnects the module at the end of its useful life and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected. The unit is cULus Listed to UL 1449 and C22.2 No. 269.3-17 for Type 3 SPDs and to UL 1363 and C22.2 No. 308-18, TAA-compliant and RoHS compliant.
