The 1585H8B1BK is a 48-inch black vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) with eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles, rated 125VAC, 60 Hz, 15 amps. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical installers who need straightforward rack power distribution inside a cabinet or open frame, and the low-profile slim design also lets it be used horizontally on a workbench.
Construction is a black painted aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic end caps, giving a rugged but lightweight body. Power control is handled by an on/off rocker switch plus a resettable circuit breaker, and all eight outlets are on the front face (no rear outlets). Receptacles are 1 in. square and equally spaced along the length of the strip at 127.00 mm [5.000 in] intervals. This version is unswitched for metering and surge: it is not a metered PDU, is not surge protected and is not hospital grade.
The captive cord is a heavy-duty 14/3 SJT type, 14 gauge, suited to extreme temperature ranges, with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug and a 15 ft length for reaching upstream receptacles. The extrusion measures 1224.28 mm [48.200 in], with an overall assembly length of 1231.19 mm [48.472 in] and a nominal strip length of 48.00 in.
A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the 1585H8B1BK for vertical mounting; additional kits are available under part number 1585CLIP. The strip is UL Listed to UL1363, CSA Certified to C22.2 (No. 21-95, 42-99) under UL file E166039, cULus marked, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA compliant and made in Canada. It supersedes part number 1585H8B1.
