Hammond 1583W8A1BK 15A 8-Outlet Switched Rack PDU, 6 ft Cord

The 1583W8A1BK is a 19-inch rack mount outlet strip rated 15A, with eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles and eight individual lighted on/off power switches. It is intended for IT, AV, broadcast, telecom and industrial users who need to control power to individual rack-mounted devices, power cycle equipment without unplugging cables, and reduce phantom power draw in racks, cabinets and on workstations or test benches.

Part of the Hammond 1583-9W Series, this basic PDU is built in North America with a heavy-duty housing and a black powder coat finish that is GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant. A resettable circuit breaker is built into the front panel to help safeguard connected devices from electrical overloads, and each outlet's lighted switch shows at a glance which loads are energised.

Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 3.66 in (93 mm) deep, with drawing dimensions of 1.718 in (43.64 mm) height, 19.000 in (482.60 mm) width and 3.661 in (92.98 mm) depth. Shipping weight is 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). The eight rear outlets are spaced along the chassis, and four 0.250 in x 0.375 in mounting slots are provided on 17.500 in (444.50 mm) centres for 19-inch rack mounting. Four rubber feet are included for surface placement when rack mounting is not required.

Power is supplied by a 6 ft cord with a straight-blade NEMA 5-15P plug; 15A models in the series use a 14/3 SJT cord. The 1583W8A1BK is UL/cUL recognized to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308 (UL file E166039), TAA compliant, USMCA compliant, RoHS and REACH compliant, and is manufactured in Canada in an ISO 9001 certified facility.
