The 1583T8A1BKX is a 1U, 19-inch rack mount basic PDU rated 15A at 120 VAC, built for IT, AV and industrial racks that need straightforward plug-in power distribution. It provides eight NEMA 5-15R outlets split between the front and rear of the unit: two facing front for quick access to test gear or frequently swapped devices, and six at the rear for permanently cabled equipment. In place of a rocker switch, this version uses a red power indicator light to confirm the strip is energized.
Power comes in through an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug on a 6 ft heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges. A 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker is built in to guard against accidental overload. The housing measures 1.72 in (44 mm) high, 19.00 in (483 mm) wide and 2.66 in (68 mm) deep for standard 1U horizontal 19-inch rackmount installation, and ships at 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg).
The 1583T8A1BKX is finished in black powder coat that complies with Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Outlets are not rotated on this model, and it is supplied without surge protection, ammeter or shielded cord — see the other 1583 Series variants if those options are required.
