Hammond 1583H8A1BK 1U 8-Outlet 15A Rack PDU, 6 ft Cord

The 1583H8A1BK is a 1U, 19-inch rack mount basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 15 A at 120 VAC with eight rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets. It is designed for power distribution from the rear of the unit, making it a practical choice for IT, AV and OEM racks where equipment cords terminate behind the rails rather than at the front of the cabinet.

Power comes in through an integral 6 ft moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade cord using heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT wire rated for extreme temperature ranges. A resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload, and an illuminated on/off rocker switch provides local control and visual confirmation that the strip is energized. This version has no surge module, no ammeter, no shielded cord and no rotated outlets, so all eight receptacles are standard-spaced 5-15R.

Construction is painted steel front and back in black, finished in powder coat that complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with a shipping weight of 4.35 lbs (1.97 kg), for horizontal installation in a standard 19-inch rack or cabinet.
